Adam Scott is an American Actor, a comedian and a producer. He’s mainly known for portraying Ben Wyatt in the NBC sitcom, Parks and Recreation, for which he was nominated for Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Actor in a Comedy Series. He has also appeared in several other Television series such as Burning Love, Pretty Little Lies. Also, he has produced shows like The Greatest Event in Television History. Early Life
On April 3, 1973, in Santa Cruz, California, Scott was born into a hgteacher family, Dougald Scott and Anne Quartararo. When he was a little boy, his parents separated. His mother is half Irish and half Italian (Sicilian), while his father is of Scottish ancestry. Shannon and David, his elder siblings, are his siblings. He received his diplomas from Los Angeles, California’s Harbor High School and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.
Career
Adam Scott not only did movies, but he is into Television series and production too. He starred in several feature films such as Hellraiser:Bloodline, Star Trek: First Contact, The Lesser Evil, Aviator, Monster-In-Law, Knocked Up, Step Brother and many more.
When Scott got the character of Derek Huff in Step Brothers, he owes his transition from dramatic to humorous parts to having learnt comedic improvisation from his co-stars Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly, and Kathryn Hahn.
Scott has produced and starred in a number of indie movies. In the 2010 movie The Vicious Kind, he played Caleb Sinclaire. Scott received an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Actor for the movie. Positive reviews were given to the movie itself, and he took home two distinct prizes from two different film festivals. He acted in two of Matt Bissonette’s films: Passenger Side and Who Loves the Sun Alongside Paul Rudd, he starred in the movies Our Idiot Brother and Leslye Hedland’s 2012 Bachelorette. Scott played the demon Trevor in four episodes of the critically acclaimed Michael Schur television series The Good Place from 2016 to 2018.
Scott switched to dramatic roles in 2017 and 2019, starring in HBO’s Big Little Lies as Ed Mackenzie, the spouse of Reese Witherspoon’s lead character Madeline Mackenzie. Ghosted, a sitcom that debuted on Fox on October 1, 2017, starring Scott with Craig Robinson and ran for just one season. The show was executive produced by him and his wife.
Ryan Reynolds served as executive producer of Scott’s one-season ABC game program Don’t in 2020. In 2022, Scott started appearing in and producing the Ben Stiller-produced Apple TV+ series Severance. His performance received praise from critics. In 2023, the cult hit Party Down was brought back to life, with Scott as Henry Pollard once more.
